Introduction Blog


My name is Alexandria Rose, and I am 24-years-old. My majors are American Sign Language Interpreting and English. I recently graduated with my first degree in Publishing for Writers. When I was 17, I self-published my first poetry book. Since I was a little girl, writing has been my passion.

A book that I love and would recommend to others is Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan. This novel focuses on bridging the gap in communication. 

A website that I love is from Bill Vicars. He has numerous free resources available for anyone interested in learning American Sign Language. This website specifically assists with practicing fingerspelling.

Something I recommend is learning how to play the guitar to introduce yourself!

    Hi, Alexandria! Nice to see a familiar face.

    I didn't know you were a published author. That is awesome! I love to see people putting their writing out into the world. If I could ask, what's the name of your poetry book? I'd love to hear more about it.

    I think it is amazing that you are pursuing both English and ASL. I love writing, and I have always been fascinated by sign language. I've learned some, but it is something I'd like to pursue more, so in some ways your blog feels like a little nudge to perhaps pick that up again and learn some more signs.

 Hello everyone, My name is Tyler Harper. I am 21 years old and a secondary education major, but also intend to graduate with an ESL certificate. Some hobbies of mine include studying Japanese, playing video games, and physically working out. I have lived in PA for most of my life, but also lived in Colorado, Georgia, and South Korea while serving in the military. A book that I recently read was "Babel" by Kuji Furumiya.
