Image
I am Evie Hostetter (21), a sophomore at Bloomsburg University. I am an English Creative Writing Major as well as a History Major. This is a picture of me in one of my vintage dresses. I love vintage fashion and old movies as well as older music. I dream to write books and write storylines for video games one day. My favorite book would probably have to be "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis because I love how it uses humor and is philosophical at the same time. Crunchyroll Website  I chose the Crunchyroll website for my blog because I watch anime a lot and it is the site I use most if I do not have the anime physically and disc form. My favorites have to be Kino's Journey, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Cowboy Bebop. I have been getting into Attack on Titan and One Piece recently and have been enjoying those as well. I just love how creative anime can be with the stories and characters. There are a lot of characters that are unique and written well in anime. For my video,...

Me and My Fuzzy Friend, Snudge Schooling & Home      Hi! My name is Emily, and I just transferred to Bloomsburg in the fall. I started my college career at Luzerne County Community College, where I got my Associate's in Professional Writing. Here at Bloom, I decided to continue in that track by doing English with a focus on Professional Writing. I'm also a commuter student and live at home with my sister, two brothers, my parents, and seven cats. Yes, I love cats. Home, for me, is in Dallas. No, not Dallas, Texas. You'd be surprised how many people ask me that. Dallas, PA, is about an hour away from campus, in case you're wondering. Reading and Writing      When I'm not on my hour-long commute or doing homework,  I love to read and write in a variety of genres, though I tend to focus on fantasy when I write. However, when it comes to reading, I go all over the place. During our break, I read a whopping 28 books from all genres, including fantasy, ...

When I was 17, I self-published my first poetry book. Since I was a little girl, writing has been my passion. A book that I love and would recommend to others is Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan. This novel focuses on bridging the gap in communication.  A website that I love is from Bill Vicars. He has numerous free resources available for anyone interested in learning American Sign Language. This website specifically assists with practicing fingerspelling.  https://asl.ms/ Something I recommend is learning how to play the guitar to introduce yourself!

John Heibeck Intro Blog

Image
Hello! My name is John Heibeck (I'll probably show up as Jack on Brightspace/Email; either name works). I was born on February 20, 2006. I enjoy reading, writing, and watching old movies. I'm legally tied for a world record (no, I will not clarify what record I'm tied for). Other than that, there's not too much to know about me.     A book I recently read that I would highly recommend is Penpal  by Dathan Auerbach. The book is about the narrator recalling events from his childhood pertaining to his stalker. It's one of the few horror books I've read that really, truly terrifies me. Sorry for the poor image quality. It's the best picture I could find.      Here's a link to an emulator for The Oregon Trail.  It's helped me through many a boring day in the past.      Finally, below is a video by YouTuber hbomberguy about the origins of the anit-vax movement. It's a very interesting watch if you have the time.

Hi everyone, my name is Avery Salada and I am a sophomore at Bloomsburg University, and am also an secondary education major with a concentration of English. I am from Lancaster, PA and live with my parents and 2 dogs. When coming to Bloomsburg for the first time I absolutely fell in love with the campus the first time I saw it and knew that I was going to be the school for me.  I play with the club field hockey team which has me traveling to different local schools and playing games, while also not being in something that needs me to commit full time.     The most recent book that I have read and loved was both the Iliad and Odyssey , mainly do to my love for Greek mythology and the gods that come with the stories. Although this read is not for most, I would highly recommend reading and experience Homer's writing and the ability to recall a story passed down for generations. His writing makes you feel as if you are sitting there around the camp...

A picture of my football roster picture  Hi everyone, my name is Matthew Buchman, and I am a secondary education English major. I am from Hazleton, Pennsylvania, and love to stay active. I am a junior here at Bloomsburg University and am a part of the football team. A recent book that I have re-read is  The Great Gatsby.  really enjoy this book because of the details and pain you can truly feel from the characters. You feel the love and sense of attachment that stays and goes throughout the story. Here is a hyperlink to a website I love called YouTube  https://www.youtube.com/ . The reason I love this website is that I enjoy watching educational videos. You can find ways to learn about anything on YouTube. Some videos are more educational than others; however, all learning is good learning. A video that I love and would recommend is a motivational video from Tom Brady. This video reflects on how you may be overlooked in life, but that does not mean you should q...

I love me a good YouTube documentary, but there's one that I find myself watching, which is  Did Yoko Break Up The Beatles  by Lindsay Ellis (I'm also a huge Beatles fan and this documentary changed my perspective on quite a few things so if you share the same interest, I highly recommend that you give it a watch). I love all things cosmetology (I actually got my license to practice cosmetology in 2023), exploring historical sites/museums, everything that has to do with theatre (in case that wa...
